Badger Supports is led by student staff and volunteers across five directorates: Executive, Wellness & Support, Engagement, Programs, and Business Development. Each of these teams works to bring peer support programs to UW-Madison students.
The Executive Directorate leads the strategic vision and day-to-day operations of Badger Supports, ensuring its programs align with the organization’s mission to foster peer-to-peer support.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing and implementing strategic planning across all directorates.
Providing guidance, support, and problem solving to other student leaders.
Implementing governance and decision-making.
Helping to address urgent issues, organizational challenges, and emerging student or program needs.
Managing organizational growth, partnerships, and key initiatives.
Representing Badger Supports in university and external collaborations.
*Members of the Executive Directorate may also hold a dual role as a Peer Facilitator.
The Wellness & Support Directorate develops and implements comprehensive education, advancement, and development initiatives that prepare student leaders to effectively deliver peer support programs.
Key responsibilities may include:
Creating and delivering training curriculum for Badger Supports student leaders.
Coordinating with University Health Services and other campus partners to improve training content.
Supporting the professional and personal growth of Badger Supports student leaders by identifying areas for growth and creating initiatives that strengthen peer support skills.
Overseeing Peer Support Groups and providing direct support to Peer Facilitators.
Helping to implement peer support principles across all Badger Supports programs.
Peer Facilitators are organized under the Wellness & Support directorate. These student leaders provide direct peer-to-peer support during Peer Support Groups, Craft Nights, Requestable Workshops, and other student-facing programs. The majority of Badger Supports student leaders serve as Peer Facilitators.
The Engagement Directorate develops and implements the communication, outreach, and marketing activities that help students learn about and engage with Badger Supports' programs.
Key responsibilities may include:
Leading Badger Supports' public facing communication, outreach, and engagement strategy.
Designing graphics, taking photos, and creating video content used for outreach and student engagement.
Leading tabling, class visits, and other direct outreach efforts.
Helping to ensure Badger Supports materials are welcoming, recognizable, and aligned with the organization’s mission, and values.
*Members of the Engagement Directorate may also hold a dual role as a Peer Facilitator.
The Programs Directorate is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Badger Supports’ Craft Nights, Requestable Workshops, and peer support initiatives.
Key responsibilities may include:
Leading the development, coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of Requestable Workshops and Craft Nights.
Overseeing program logistics and materials to help ensure events are well organized, student centered, and effectively carried out.
Supporting efforts that keep programming welcoming and responsive to student interests and needs.
Managing large-scale projects such as the Resource Referral Program, Colors of Support, Badger Break Day, and other campus-wide initiatives.
*Members of the Programs Directorate may also hold a dual role as a Peer Facilitator.
The Business Development Directorate is responsible for the financial and operational coordination that sustains the organization's peer support programs, stability, and long term growth.
Key responsibilities may include:
Supporting budget oversight, payroll approval, purchasing, and other financial processes.
Ensuring organizational compliance with relevant university requirements and internal policies.
Supporting General Student Services Fund processes, including grant planning, documentation, and coordination.
Analyzing financial data, providing regular reports and recommendations to the Executive directorate.
