Ava Hammen is a Volunteer Peer Facilitator for Badger Supports. She helps support peer-to-peer connection across peer support groups, programs, and other student-facing spaces. Through Badger Supports training, Ava develops skills in active listening, supportive conversation, and student-centered facilitation. In this role, she helps make Badger Supports spaces feel welcoming, respectful, and grounded in care.
Ava is a current nursing student with future career aspirations of becoming a pediatric nurse or CRNA. She is also pursuing a certificate in global health studies. Ava is interested in helping and providing support to others with her future career, which is why she decided to go into nursing.
Ava has been involved in a variety of mental health events, and has hopes to provide her support to her peers on campus. She is hoping to use her own personal experiences to help others going through difficult times.
Ava loves to do anything active, and enjoys spending time outdoors. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
