Nick Bostedt is the Peer Support Training and Support Group Coordinator for Badger Supports. He helps oversees facilitator training and manages weekly support groups, ensuring peer leaders are prepared and groups remain inclusive, consistent, and supportive.
Nick Bostedt is majoring in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences while also pursuing certificates in Environmental Studies, Science Communication, and Geospatial Data Science. He is interested in all things weather and climate related, but he also has a larger interest in both tornadoes and hurricanes. Nick is also looking into ways to help improve the communication methods for hazardous weather impacts across all communities across the country.
Nick joined Badger Supports in order to help out his peers, both in his field and outside it. He was QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) trained for crisis intervention back when he was a member of his high school's Hope Squad, a nationwide peer-based suicide prevention program. Nick has also been a participant in multiple suicide prevention and suicide awareness walks, both in his hometown and here on campus.
Nick is an avid music fan as well as a photographer who is focused on capturing everything that has to do with nature and local events. Nick is also a rock climber, as well as a disc golfer and an ultimate frisbee player. He also runs an online group dedicated to covering Wisconsin weather events, The Badger Breeze based off over two years of previous experience working with larger social media teams.
